Troubleshooting the ProFusion iS Pandora

Power cycle the ProFusion iS Pandora

  • Press the standby button on the front of the player and allow the device to enter Standby Mode. The screen will dim and the power indicator light will turn red.
  • Press the standy button once more to power down the device.
  • Press the power button on the back of the device into the OFF position.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet and leave unplugged for about 30 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
  • Press the power button on the back of the device into the ON position.
  • Press the standby button on the front of the player. The machine will initialize for three stages and resume music playback.

Device has no power

  • Verify the power cord is properly connected to the wall plug, at the external power supply, and at the back of the unit.
  • Verify the power cord is connected to a working electrical outlet. If able, test the outlet with another electrical device.
  • Verify the power button on the back of the unit is pressed into the ON position.
  • If the unit still fails to power on, proceed to RMA the unit (RMA Trouble Code: No Power).

Control panel displays 'Machine Expired'

  • Important! Before providing an unlock code for the player, access the related subscription in Magento and verify that the subscription is active and does not have any declined payments; additionally, access the player in Unity and review the latest comments in the device window. If the player is expired, there is a possibility that the player was deactivated for non-payment, or for a cancelled subscription.
  • The online control site will display a 6-digit lock code. A 3-digit unlock code can be generated in Unity using the Device Menu Unlock tool ***(If an 8-digit lock code is provided, a 4-digit unlock code can ge generated in Unity under the specific device's zones tab)***. Once unlocked, select a station to begin playback.

Control panel displays 'Network Problem Occurred'

  • This error is commonly resolved by logging out of the online control site, power cycling both the player and network router, and accessing the online control site once more.
  • If the error continues to appear, proceed to troubleshoot network connectivity.

Control panel displays 'No Playback - Fatal Error'

  • Power cycle the device to see if the error clears.
  • If the error persists, the device cannot find the SD card, or the SD card is corrupted. Proceed to RMA the unit (RMA Trouble Code: Device Fails to Start Playback).

Control panel displays 'Connection to Pandora Not Ready'

  • Power cycle the device.
  • If the error persists, have the user run 'Update Music & Config' via the front control panel.
  • Press the standby button on the front control panel and allow the device to enter Standby Mode. Wait 5 seconds, then click the * button on the front control panel.
  • Have the user access www.pandora.com from a desktop or laptop computer connected to the same network as the player. If Pandora is unavailable, there may be a Pandora outage in that particular region.
  • If the error persists, have the user confirm the necessary network ports are open (this error indicates that ports 80 and 443 may be closed).

No audio output

  • Verify the RCA cables are properly connected to the appropriate zones on the ProFusion iS, and verify the other end of the RCA cables are properly connected to the amplification equipment
  • Verify the volume level of the sound system equipment (including wall volume controls, if present) is turned up to an appropriate level.
  • Verify that the player is active and streaming by having the user view the front control panel of the device. Confirm that a station is selected and scrolling across the screen.

No or low volume levels

  • Verify the RCA cables are properly connected to the appropriate zones on the ProFusion iS, and verify the other end of the RCA cables are properly connected to the amplification equipment.
  • Verify the volume level of the sound system equipment (including wall volume controls, if present) are turned up to an appropriate level.
  • Verify that the player is active and streaming by having the user view the front control panel of the device. Confirm that a station is selected and scrolling across the screen.
  • Confirm that the player's internal volume is at its maximum settings by accessing the Volume Control menu via the front control panel.

Player stops playback after a few songs

  • If the player is connected via WiFi, this may be caused by a signal reception issue:
    • Having the player on a glass or metal surface can cause poor WiFi reception. Walls and long distances between the player and WiFi router can cause the same symptoms.
    • This website can assist clients with issues regarding overlapping WiFi signals in their coverage area.
  • Verify that the client's network has enough bandwidth for the player to stream. If the player doesn't receive enough data, the player will not be able to stream consistently.
  • If the WiFi reception is strong, port forwarding may be required on the client's network equipment to ensure uninterrupted playback.

Music does not start/stop at the correct time

  • The Profusion iS retrieves the correct date and time from the Internet. If the client has a dayparting schedule set, verify that the schedule type is set to Custom Schedule in the Schedule Control menu on the front control panel. Have the client review the start and end times of the schedule.

Online control panel displays 'Zone Stopped'

  • This indicates that no station is currently selected to play, or that there's a time period in the selected dayparting schedule in which no music is scheduled to play.
  • If the player is not set on a dayparting schedule, select a station to play from the Manage Stations tab on the Stations menu in the online control panel.
  • If the station that is currently playing is deleted from the control panel or Pandora.com, the player will show this message. Select a new station to play in order to clear the message and resume playback.

ProFusion iS network port requirements

  • The ports listed below must be open for inbound and outbound traffic to MOOD's server (IP: 66.150.6.130):
    • Port 20 (FTP - TCP/UDP): FTP Data Transfer
Used for connecting to MOOD's servers
    • Port 21 (FTP - TCP): FTP Protocol
Used for connecting to MOOD's servers
    • Port 22 (SFTP - TCP/UDP): Secure Shell (SSH)
Used for secure logins, file transfers (SCP/SFTP), and port forwarding
    • Port 80 (HTTP - TCP): Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP)
Used for displaying the control panel and access to Pandora
    • Port 443 (HTTPS - TCP): Hypertext Transfer Protocol over TLS/SSL (HTTPS)
Used to do an authentication check before each song with Pandora
    • Port 5353 (UDP - UDP): Multicast DNS (mDNS)
Allows the player to contact/interact with the user's network appropriately
  • Need to confirm if a port is open or closed? Have the user visit http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ via a computer on the same network as the ProFusion iS.
    • To check the status for port 20, port 21, and port 22: In the Remote Address section, enter the ProFusion iS's assigned IP address. Enter the desired port to check in the Port Number section and click Check.
    • To check the status for port 80, port 443, and port 5353: In the Remote Address section, enter Pandora's server IP (208.85.40.92). Enter the desired port to check in the Port Number section and click Check.

ProFusion iS network bandwidth requirements

  • The ProFusion iS requires a minimum bandwidth of 150 KBps to ensure consistent streaming. A smaller bandwidth may lead to frequent pauses in the music stream.
  • Need to confirm network speed or bandwidth? Have the user visit http://www.speedtest.net/ via a computer on the same network as the ProFusion iS. Click the yellow 'BEGIN TEST' button in the center of the page to begin.

How to confirm if the ProFusion iS is on the same network as the user's computer

  • Have the user confirm the IP address of their computer first. There are many sites on the Web that will show the user how to find their computer's IP address, based on operating system they are using (Windows, Mac OS, etc.); simply Google-search for the method that will work for the user's OS.
  • In order for the user's computer and player to be on the same network, the first three octets of each IP address must match. As an example, let's assume that the ProFusion iS's IP address is 192.168.14.32 -- if the computer's IP address is 192.168.14.45, then the computer and player are on the same network. However: if the computer's IP address is 192.168.47.105, the computer is not on the same network as the player; this is known because the third octet of each IP address do not match.
